Bush

Can you believe this?

Holding Christine Todd Whitman liable will set a dangerous precedent, leaving public officials to worry that their words to reassure the public after disasters will open them up to personal liability, Justice Department attorney Alisa Klein told the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

“If you speak, you will be potentially held liable,” she said. “Then the clear message for government officials is to say nothing.”

No you freaking AHOLE, when you speak, you TELL THE TRUTH TO THE PUBLIC then you have nothing to fear…Christ how hard is it?!

“What I’m suggesting to you is, if you can’t name the foreign minister of Mexico, therefore, you know, you’re not capable of what you do.  But the truth of the matter is you are, where you can or not.”

As quoted in the Seattle Post Intelligencer; 11/6/1999

In an interview with Charlie Rose, Karl Rove suggested that Congress rushed the President into war. The President didn’t have enough time to assemble a coalition. He didn’t have time to plan. He couldn’t give the inspectors time to do their job. Oh, and he didn’t want to do it at election time because it would politicize the war vote.

I think I am going to be sick.

Here’s an old NYT article that sheds some light on dissenting voices, including our own Sen. Biden.

A friend of mine remarked last night that, in light of Cheney’s heart problems yesterday, George Bush was less than a heartbeat away from being President.  Think about that for a minute.

Just thought you should know…

His reply:

I will try to find out tonight when I talk to my soccer forum buddies. They are pretty good for these stuff…

That is weird…………

we will keep you posted.

Sure we know about the burgeoning democracy Iraq is about to become, we also know that freedom is on the march in Pakistan.  But did you know that George called it in Georgia too?  No not that Georgia that prays to God for Rain…

The Georgia that President Bush has called a “beacon of democracy” in the region.

Apparently thier President gets the US version of Democracy too…

Addressing the country on television Wednesday, the American-educated Saakashvili said: “We cannot let our country become the stage for dirty geopolitical escapades by other countries,” an allusion to Russia. “Our democracy needs the firm hand of the authorities.”

And honestly what Democracy doesn’t need a firm hand? Not some pussy like invisible hand!

This hand is so firm in fact

Opponents say Saakashvili’s government has become increasingly authoritarian in ways that echo Soviet days, allowing judicial abuse and political intimidation

AWESOME! I wonder if Bush looked into this guys eyes and saw his soul too?

oh and this little nugget is sweet too…

About 9 p.m., Imedi, a television station known for its opposition to the government, went off the air in the middle of a live broadcast. Before the screen went black, the anchor said police had entered the premises and had told employees to lie on the floor.

He called on foreign governments to respond. Imedi has been owned jointly by billionaire opposition supporter Badri Patarkatsishvili and Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. Last week, the station announced that News Corp. was increasing its shares to a majority stake.

“People say, how can I help on this war against terro?  How can I fight evil?  You can do so by mentoring a child; by going into a shut-in’s house and say I love you.”

It’s ok when he does it?  but not me?

“The enemies who attacked us six years ago want to strike our country again, and next time they hope to kill Americans on a scale that will make 9/11 pale by comparison.”

Bush, yesterday (aka Veterans Day)

Spare me….

Quote from Eternal Candidate Mike Protack regarding my earlier post:

Let me say what many are thinking. Veteran’s Day is not about poltical pettiness or anything resembling an agenda. Your photo is a sad way to say you disagree with the President. There are better ways to do so.

Let’s all give it up for George Bush.  He has now reached levels of disapproval unknown since polling began.  He finally beat the record of Tricky Dick during his “Miracle Year.”  It was thought to be a record that would stand forever, but Nixon is no match for Bush.  We will never misunderestimate you again.

Congratulations Mr. President.  We knew you could do it.

One of the Bush stalwarts, Karen Hughes, has finally decided to call it quits.  She is leaving her job as Under-Secretary of State where she was responsible for making sure that Bush Administration policy wasn’t misunderstood by the Islamic world.  Mission Accomplished.  The Muslim world gets it, and they hate it.

Now we just need someone to make sure that Americans don’t misunderstand Bush Administration policy in the Islamic world.

As a geek, I hate stories like this.  The House Judiciary Committee wanted to send out an email to all of the anonymous tipsters in the DoJ US Attorneys scandal to tell them how much of a premium they are putting on their anonymity.  They didn’t want them to think that there was any way that people in positions of power could retaliate for their whistleblowing.  There are some things that just need to be done by competent people, and this is one of them.

When the email went out, all of the whistleblowers’ emails were in the To: field instead of the bcc: field.  This means that every whistleblower could see every other whistleblower’s email address.  Oddly enough, one of the apparent informants was the Vice President’s office.  So now Voldemort has the names of all of all of the members of the Order of the Phoenix.

Can they be any more stupid?
