If the purpose of professional atheletes is providing entertainment, then what they voluntarily do to their own bodies shouldn’t be an issue. If bioengeneering becomes possible, why can’t the pros take advantage of that to make the game more entertaining? Perhaps at some point in the future, medical science could even make McNabb a quarterback.
I mean, look at the cheerleaders. Their bodies have seen more knives than a Benihana onion volcano (and that’s not a complaint). The goal for perfection is sought by many. So few of us are lucky enough to be born with the physical gifts of a donviti. Why not take advantage of scientific augmentation? If the pros (by pros I mean both the atheletes and the cheerleaders) can make a bunch of money at the cost of their primary and secondary sexual characteristics, its their choice.
