It is exciting that we have so many able and prominant DEMs ready to take over in the next few years for the statewide and national offices.

I tend to agree with Jason on most assessments, though I think Biden went negative just as quickly as Wharton. However, that was part of the larger pattern of Democrats defending themselves against Rovian attacks - something that really worked this year. I looked past all that and voted for Wharton because of his experiance and because I believe the attorney general should be less about politics and more about the business at hand. However, Biden would have my support in future political ventures assuming he does a decent job as AG (as I expect him to do).

I agree also that Castle is done in 2008, if not before. That seat WILL go Democrat. I can't even name a Republican with a chance, but I can think of several Democrats who would win fairly easily in our blue-ing state. Hey, maybe this will prevent the expected gubanatorial primary between Markell and Carney. Spivack also said he might run again, and I think he would do a nice job. Plenty of possibilities for a Democratic pick up on our seat two years out.

Delaware is a blue state from here on out.

OK, some gloating is in order - for about ten minutes.

Dems biggest weakness remains themselves. I'm not content with relying on DE-GOP incompetence for Delaware to remain blue.

Minner's low approval ratings are a storm on the horizon for Dems. Minner has about ten months to clean up the budget, and start making all those task forces bear some recognizable fruit.

Vaughn's seat will be an open race sooner or later. Based on his showing I'd expect Feroce to be back.

McDowell and Adams were strangely invulnerable this time but remain an embarrassment to Dems.

Carper will have plenty of chances over the next two years to show whether he is a real Democrat or not. 70% or not, now is the time for a solid primary candidate to start organizing. If Delaware is so blue now, somebody bluer than Carper has a real shot.

Castle's seat will be an open contest in 2008 if not sooner. Dems have more ways to screw that up than I can think of right now.

It is looking Damn good out there in the rest of the nation for the blue.
DE GOPer leadership has been smashed down to a pulp.
And yeah, Fulcher is SUCH AN A-HOLE, his support probably did Wharton in!
